Donelli Alexo has developed a specialized department for the coating of components for the aerospace industry, located within the CX plant in Cuggiono. This facility has been designed to ensure the highest standards in terms of precision, repeatability and quality of treatment, fully meeting the needs of an industry where every detail is critical.
The plant is certified according to the EN ISO 9100 standard, specific to the aviation, space and defense sectors. This certification attests to our organization’s ability to operate in accordance with the technical, documentation-related and quality requirements for aerospace applications.
The aerospace coating department handles both metals and composite materials (including carbon fiber and Kevlar), with application cycles that include:
– Surface preparation by controlled sanding on multi-filtration suction benches;
– Application in dedicated coating booths equipped with gas heating systems, insulated walls and ceilings, real-time temperature control and double-stage filtration;
– Complete traceability of each individual component thanks to heat-resistant labeling with automatic coding and digital management integrated with the customers’ systems;
– Accurate quality controls through dimensional measurements, adhesion tests, tests on sample panels and dry film thickness measurements;
– Packaging and temporary storage of components in separate areas, with dedicated logistics management.
The entire process is monitored by an Industry 4.0 system for continuous parameter control and order traceability. The staff employed in the aerospace department is specifically trained, and the activities are carried out under the supervision of NACE and FROSIO-certified inspectors.
