Donelli Alexo S.r.l. specializes in anti-corrosion coatings, fire protection, and insulation for plants in the energy, oil & gas, chemical, and offshore sectors. It has gained extensive experience in the internal and external coating of valves and heat exchangers, and it is a licensed applicator of Säkaphen (for Italy and France) and Heresite systems. Finally, it is ISO 9001, ISO 9100, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Qualisteel Coat, and AMPP QP3 certified.

Donelli Alexo operates through a strategically structured organization with its primary production and logistics hub located in Cuggiono (Milan), and its administrative headquarters in nearby Legnano (Milan), enabling efficient coordination across operational and management functions. Originally founded in the early 1980s as a division of Impresa Donelli, it became independent in 1997 and has since evolved into a leader in corrosion-resistant coatings, fire protection, and insulation for sectors such as energy, Oil & Gas, chemicals, and offshore installations. It also offers specialized internal and external coatings for components like valves and heat exchangers, holding exclusive application rights in Italy (and since 2024, also in France) for Säkaphen products.

Donelli Alexo operates four advanced facilities, including two newly launched plants (CX in Cuggiono and MXP in Ferno) and two long-standing, recently upgraded sites in Cuggiono and Voghera. This company can perform a wide range of high-performance treatments such as grit blasting, passive fire protection coatings, precision micro sandblasting with corundum, solvent-free coatings for food and chemical industries, traditional and anti-corrosion painting, vinyl ester and glass flake lining application for harsh environments, metalizing for corrosion resistance, and heat-cured phenolic coating application for chemical durability.

Certifications and patents

Donelli Alexo demonstrates a strong commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability, as reflected in its numerous certifications. The company is certified under ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety), and ISO 14001 (environmental management), and also holds the EN 9100:2018 certification, which is specific to the aerospace and defense sectors and ensures high standards of quality and traceability. Its production facilities are also certified: the Cuggiono plant holds the AMPP QP3 certification for excellence in surface preparation and industrial coatings, while the MXP facility is Qualisteel Coat-certified for durable anti-corrosion finishes in harsh environments.

In collaboration with the German coatings manufacturer Säkaphen, for which Donelli Alexo is a licensed applicator, the company co-patented a specialized internal pipe-coating spray system (EP4100171B1). In response to the growing importance of ESG standards, Donelli Alexo undertook a comprehensive sustainability review in 2024 using the Tigran platform developed by Modefinance. These certifications and achievements underscore the company’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge protective treatment solutions while meeting the demands of highly regulated markets.
