A third-party laboratory test confirms that Heresite P-413 (Standard and +UV) complies with ISO 12944-9 Corrosivity Category CX (Extreme) adapted to be applied on scribed aluminum substrates.

It is in this spirit of continuous improvement that we, Heresite Protective Coatings and Donelli Alexo S.r.l., are proud to announce that Heresite P-413 Standard and Heresite P-413+UV have successfully met the rigorous requirements for ISO 12944-9 Corrosivity Category CX (Extreme) adapted to be applied on scribed aluminum substrates.
Independent Validation by an Accredited Laboratory
To ensure the highest level of impartiality and technical accuracy, we commissioned MATED S.r.l., an ISO 17025 accredited independent testing laboratory (Trento, Italy), to conduct this assessment.
The results from this third-party certification are particularly significant as they fully corroborate the extensive internal testing already conducted by Heresite during the product development phase. This independent verification confirms that our internal quality benchmarks accurately predict performance in the most demanding external conditions.
ISO 12944-9 CX Testing on Scribed Aluminum
While the ISO 12944-9 standard is typically applied to steel, we specifically directed the laboratory to perform the tests on aluminum substrates to replicate the real-world application of our coatings on heat transfer coils.
After 4,200 hours of cyclic aging—combining UV/condensation, neutral salt spray, and low-temperature exposure (T=-20 ± 3 °[C]) — the accredited test report confirms:
- Excellent Barrier Protection: Rated 0 (ISO 4628) for blistering, rusting, cracking, and flaking.
- Superior Adhesion: Pull-off values exceeding 5 MPa.
- Corrosion Resistance: Minimal to no creep from the scribe.
A Commitment to Durability
This achievement, backed by both Heresite internal R&D and now a certified external laboratory, provides you with the assurance that Heresite-coated coils are built to withstand “Extreme” (CX) environments—including offshore and high-humidity industrial areas—preserving asset life and efficiency.
We have always seen our solutions and technologies as an energy saving factor in asset management and indirectly as a measure to protect the environment. At Donelli Alexo, we are now capable of estimating the impact of our coated coils (versus uncoated) on CO2 emissions over the lifetime of the HVAC/R asset.
This new certification, just like the EN 45545 certification obtained in 2021, shows how Heresite and Donelli are committed to jointly responding to customer needs and tailor our products, technologies, certifications and solutions to meet your specific needs.
